General Information

The Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) develops and implements strategies to attract and retain businesses and jobs, revitalize neighborhoods and communities, ensure quality housing and foster appropriate development in Connecticut’s towns and cities. The department’s Office of BioScience is devoted exclusively to providing business development assistance to bioscience firms.

The office supports and strengthens Connecticut’s bioscience industry by:

Facilitating the growth of existing companies;
Providing bioscience companies with a single source they can turn to for financial and technical assistance;
Working to make the state’s policies and programs, as well as its permitting and regulatory practices, conducive to bioscience growth; and
Spotlighting Connecticut as a global center of bioscience.
