Cobalt Therapeutics, LLC delivers “computerized cognitive behavioral therapy” (CBT). These therapies are widely used by health care systems in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia. Cobalt has the exclusive license for proprietary  computerized CBT programs in the United States.

The company’s programs are in use at leading medical centers for insomnia, mental illness, and alcohol and drug abuse. The company is partnering with clinicians, researchers, and healthcare providers.

Through CBT, patients unlearn complex behaviors that are detrimental and learn to substitute new helpful ones, as well as exercises needed for continued success. CBT is proven to be effective and often the best option for problems as diverse as depression, anxiety, and insomnia, but it has been challenging is to deliver CBT broadly due to a shortage of trained clinicians and geographic dispersion of those in need.

Cobalt Therapeutics’ programs have been studied in randomized, controlled clinical trials at academic centers. Results have been published in peer reviewed journals. The programs are of particular interest to health care systems that factor both outcome effectiveness and cost into treatment decisions.

Cobalt Therapeutics is managed and funded by a group with more than 100 years of mental health treatment, management, and investment experience.
