measure of the strength of Connecticut’s bioscience sector
is its calendar of events. Every year brings numerous
opportunities for CURE members and others to get together
for face-to-face networking and the exchange of ideas in

Optherion,
Inc. is an early-stage biotechnology company focusing
on Age-Related Macular Degeneration and
other disorders of the immune system component known as the
alternative complement pathway. Presenting
the company's story March 19 in New Haven were Colin
Foster, president and CEO, and Amanda Hayward, Ph.D.,
senior vice president of Scheer & Company, the
Branford-based venture capital firm that led the early
organization and capitalization of the company. Frank Marco,
partner, of series sponsor Wiggin and Dana, introduced the
speakers.
